HYDERABAD: For ongoing by elections to seven assembly constituencies of Adilabad, Kamareddy, Kollapur, Mahbubangar, Ghanpur, Nagarkurnool and Kovur, arrangements have been made for webcasting the poll process at all polling stations. Only a few stations will be left out as no connectivity could be established by BSNL.
Speaking to reporters, chief electoral officer, Bhanwar Lal said that through live webcasting, polling activities from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. will be monitored by ECI, CEO, district election officers and returning officers. Test checking of webcasting was conducted on Monday from randomly selected 10 stations from each constituency and found them to be perfect. So far the police during the raids have seized cash Rs 6,54,83,081 and 79,920 litres of liquor.
As many as 12,271 prohibition cases have been booked and 472 person have been arrested. As many as 3,325 persons have been bounded over and 577 licensed arms been deposited.
He said that a facility has been provided to voters of seven assembly constituencies to know polling station and also to complain about violation of model code of conduct by political party activists, candidates and others.
For knowing the polling station, the voter has to send SMS to mobile number 8978973452 by typing ‘EPIC’ followed by space and EPIC No. (Voter ID card number), for example: EPC TUJ0139477.
For complaining about code of conduct violations, distribution of liquor or money etc, citizens can send complaints through SMS. The mobile numbers are 7382621251, 7382621252, 7382621253, 7382621254 and 7382621255. The identity of the sender will be kept confidential.
