Congress delaying T to suppress movement: BJP
Express News Service: 12 Jan 2010

KARIMNAGAR/SANGAREDDY: BJP State president Bandaru Dattatreya has toured in Karimnagar and Medak districts today.

KARIMANGAR: Dattatreya has alleged that the Congress was delaying Telangana issue only to suppress the ongoing movement. It has always adopted same tactics always and calmed down the Naxal movement, he reminded.

Addressing newspersons here today, the BJP leader called upon all the political parties and people in the region to continue the movement.
The Congress has plunged into chaos and it needs to address those problems first, he said. The BJP leader demanded that AICC president Sonia Gandhi and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu have to make their stand on separate State clear as Telangana movement was at its peak. The resignations by the Congress and TDP legislators and MLAs are just a drama, he said.

On the all-party meeting held at Delhi on 5 January, he said it was a futile exercise as people expected an announcement of timebound programme from it.

The Centre, he felt, should not hold any talks on Telangana but introduce a Bill in the next session of Parliament. The BJP will definitely support it, he reiterated.

Dattatreya said the BJP would carry forward the ‘Jai Andhra’ movement with the same vigour as Telangana movement. After Pongal, he said, the party would conduct `jagarana’ programme to strengthen Jai Andhra movement.

The BJP State leader warned of Constitutional crisis if the Congress did not take any decision on the issue of statehood to Telangana.
He suggested that the Congress remove Chief Minister K Rosaiah from the post as he was incapable of administering the State properly.

Party leaders P Sugunakar Rao, Venkatnarayana Reddy and others were present.

SANGAREDDY: The BJP State president said separate Telangana will not be formed by lobbying in Delhi but by intensifying the movement.
Dattatreya met JAC leaders participating in relay hunger strikes for separate State in Gajwel and Siddipet today.

Speaking to newspersons, the BJP leader claimed that their party alone was having a clear stand on the issue of Telangana. The Congress and TDP are being two-faced on the issue and creating confusion, he criticised. Leaders of both the parties have aired different opinions in the all-party meeting held by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram.
While the leaders of Telangana spoke in support of separate State, those in Andhra appealed for United Andhra at the meet. By airing two different opinions, there will be no benefit, he said.

Dattatreya stressed the need for creating a Constitutional crisis and intensifying the movement for the bifurcation of the State.

The officials, students and political parties in the State have already divided into two, he said. PRP chief Chiranjeevi announced that he was committed to United Andhra while the MIM did not clarify its stand.
In such a situation, the people of the region should be careful and intensify the movement, he cautioned.
