Staff Reporter, The Hindu, 9 Jan 2010

NIZAMABAD: Congress Working Committee member and the Member of Parliament K. Keshava Rao has said the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre will definitely deliver the Telangana State and none needs to lay down his/her life for achieving the long cherished dream.

Talking to press persons after visiting the relay hunger strike camp of pro-Telangana activists at Jakranpally mandal headquarters on Friday, he said: “Telangana will come and people may wage struggle in a peaceful manner without resorting to violent activities.”

He was accompanied by Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and D. Sreedhar Babu. The Congress leaders stopped at the hunger strike camp on the request of the local Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) member Surya Suresh alias Bujji.

Later, they proceeded to Nirmal in Adilabad district to express their solidarity to the former Member of Parliament I. Indrakaran Reddy who was on fast-unto-death on Telangana issue.

Meanwhile, different sections of people continued to agitate on the demand of Telangana State across the district.

High School students wrote half-yearly exams sitting on the road at Dharpally, while pro-Telangana activists burnt the effigy of megastar Chirajeevi for his turn about on the Telangana at Makloor mandal headquarter.
