Staff Reporter, The Hindu

ADILABAD: The opinion of villagers in Kajjerla in Talamadugu mandal turned out to be overwhelmingly in support of a separate State at a mock referendum held in the village on Sunday. Of the 954 votes polled during the exercise only two were cast in favour of a united Andhra Pradesh. The village committee had got ballot papers printed and under the supervision of independent election officials the secret ballot was held at the local high school.

Police arrested six persons in connection with the burning of a generator of a cell tower at Duginepalli in Chennur mandal.

Meanwhile, protests continued across the district as rallies were taken.
