KCR asks cadres to keep mum
TNN 12 December 2009, 04:54am IST
HYDERABAD: In a tactical move, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao has asked party leaders not to react to the political developments in the wake of the agitation in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions and the resignations by legislators from these two regions opposing the Centre’s decision to carve a separate Telangana state.
Rao gave this advice to his partymen before getting discharged from NIMS where he has been under treatment from December 2 while observing a fast-unto-death.
Rao had originally planned to go in a rally from NIMS, but in view of the new political developments, he cancelled the programme and drove straight to his house. KCR has decided to keep away from the media and also asked his son, nephew and other party leaders to keep mum. “KCR has got what he wanted. He does not want to tom tom the victory and draw adverse reactions,” an analyst said.
According to NIMS doctors, KCR’s health condition had improved after he called off his fast on Wednesday night but said that he needed two weeks’ rest before resuming his normal activity. The TRS chief was supposed to stay at the hospital for three more days, but was discharged on Friday at 10.30 am where his supporters greeted him with Jai Telangana slogans. Doctors said that though he was advised rest in the hospital, KCR wanted to go home and said he would take rest there.
