Also, looking at a comment here, very very very saddened to see that there are indeed some ignorant people... it is absolutely incorrect and nonsense to even imagine that the festival is for some sections only.... hope you will take the effort to actually attend a festival before you comment thru your wild imaginations... infact, this festival is known across all of telangana as the oori festival... for a start, please please please notice that it is actually celebrated in the open out of the homes... once the ladies line up and circle the battukammas there is only one voice one festival one celebration .... the way one lead singer sings the song and the rest pick the line even as the lead finishes uyyaloooo..... is a treat to the ears... and the beauty of the simple steps when all the legs go to the right with a deft move, even as the clapping continues with the hands swinging...and remember its a circle and as more folks join it just grows bigger and bigger late into the night. how I wished if only we have a 'birds eye' view from the top. I bet you it will beat any of the extravagant 'ceremonies' telecast on TV. good job in reviving our culture…
